Tactical Helicopter
We built an armed remote controlled tactical helicopter as a proof of concept for the US Special Operations Team.
Support in the Field
The helicopter is armed with a 22 caliber fully automatic machine gun that can shoot 600 rounds per minute. An onboard steady cam allows soldiers to pilot the unit via a small computer screen and handheld controller. The video camera is gun mounted and always on target - what you see is what you shoot.
The onboard machine gun can be fully suppressed to simulate sniper fire and keep the enemy pinned down.
Soldiers can easily carry the 35lb helicopter in a backpack and quickly deploy the unit for reconnaissance or additional cover in combat. Each battery powered helicopter is capable of 55 minutes of continuous flight.
Watch the video to see the helicopter in action.
